Why does your Minecraft server community and server exist?

A community for gamers and content creators alike who wish to collaborate or just join in the fun if possible. I imagined this server to be a place where players could play mini-games with the streamers they follow while the streamers could collaborate and work together to create content and story lines. Personally my game play has always been what I would call custom. I like to do many different things with the game, from content creation, to plug-in development & game design, to map building & custom creative appealing builds. There is also a gentle hint towards personal growth and development.

Who is your target audience and how do you advertise to them?

Who should play here? Everyone is welcome. Pandemonium is just that, order with chaos. Build what you imagine, play to your hearts desire. Don't stomp on others unless it's agreed upon. Advertisement is done via content creators.

In the next 12 months, what three metrics will define success for your server?

I don't imagine the server to be an insane 10K player count, but I'd be happy to see dedicated content creators leveraging the server for their own creations. I imagine viewers coming and going to collaborate and be a part of the content they watch. Having enough contestants to host my game show would be a sign of success to me. I've said there is a minimum number of players I'd like to see and so far I've not seen it.

What are three principles that are most valuable to your community?

Trust is a very difficult thing to establish with in INFJ-A personality. I'm owner/admin/player/content creator,dev,builder...etc Only place I'm not looking for help is ownership. :)
The north star is you working on you. We're all working together to help each other blossom into who we actually are. That's not an easy thing to accomplish let alone imagine, there are ups and downs, collisions, even departures while we cross each others paths on our way to becoming who we are now. This is something everyone has to keep in mind. All I can think of is that Powerman5000 song "When worlds collide"

How does each player’s experience start when they join your server? How does this express your values in action?

You're in control of what you do whether you realize that or not, you've always got that choice. But choices lead us to consequences, be they good or bad, is to be determined. I've had some players log in, get a tour of what the server has to offer, participate in some collaborative experiences, even get assigned roles like creator or builder. Most lose interest, likely because they had an uncommunicated expectation. While other players log in and start griefing immediately, they get tossed into jail as I try my darndest not to ban players and help them play together rather than on each other, unless it's consenting.

What are the different roles that members can play in your community? What does each role do?

Permission roles:
Role VIP = Donator - a loving role for a content creator supporter - gets in game economical discounts
Role MVP = Donator - a higher tier of economical discounts - Also for Active Content Creators - which can be removed unless they've donated as well - this allows this player to reach certain economical goals more quickly - which leads to less grind - making it easier to bring their vision to fruition
Role OG = Staff = moderator - a judge - able to perform tough love when needed - also the role of builder/designer
Role Admin = ME... at least for now, perhaps some day some one will earn enough of my trust
Player roles:
Builder/Designer: Someone who enjoys decorative type building, Mini-Game Map design
Dev: Someone with java knowledge willing to work on our plug-in objectives. Someone who will eventually earn the role of Admin.

What are the most important rules that you have to help you achieve your server's purpose and values?

1. No hacking.
2. No griefing.
3. Respect.
4. Enjoy the server.
Violation means tough love.. and quite possibly a public airing of it.

How do you make decisions for the server? Who gets to decide what?

Content creators/MVPs have influence on decisions. They should have a minimum guideline of their operations, space, plans, they may require world guard configurations for their builds. These items are shared within the content creators discord role.

What are the risks that can prevent your community from thriving? What tools do you use to protect your server and players? Are they reactive or proactive?

Risks: hacking,griefing
Solution: Jail sentence, term/cost depending on the gravity of the situation
Solutions: World back ups
Reactive: Yes, we will show them somelove
Proactive: some Yes

What are the simplest channels for you to communicate with other staff? With players? How often do you talk with them?

Discord is primary for communication
Channel videos are for viewer updates
We have the option to do announcements in game if desired/needed
There is a completely empty forum on the website ;)
No problems with socials being used, in fact, for content creators, your own socials can be added to the servers social commands .ie /instagram or /youtube
Discord has a comments area while in game has options to ask for help or file a report
There is a separate discord server for staff, how tos will be there.
